“Gold” is one of my favorite projects I’ve ever done and probably my favorite album I’ve released since 2022. It was heavily inspired by a February 2024 trip to California where I did some hiking in the Eastern Sierras (Mt. Whitney, Lone Pine, and Bishop). I grew up in California but moved to the Midwest after living in CA for 38 years. It’s always a joy to go back and see California’s magnificent mountain ranges and deserts.
